Road Atlas of the USSR (Атлас автомобильных дорог СССР) is a comprehensive Soviet-era road atlas depicting the extensive network of automobile routes that connected the republics, regions, cities, and settlements of the Soviet Union. Published at a time when long-distance road travel and motor transport were becoming increasingly important to the country’s economic and social development, the atlas provides a fascinating cartographic snapshot of the USSR as it existed in the early 1960s.
